Sensitisation and Long Term Change Starts with the Next Generation

Project Brief:

HHiSS has a keen interest in sensitising the young members of Zambia’s society on snakes and snakebites. A large number of snakebite victims are children and teaching them about snakes and snakebites will aid in reducing the snakebite victim numbers. In addition, it helps them to understand the importance of snakes in the Zambian ecosystem.

We will work together with organisations such as Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ) and Game Rangers International (GRI) to roll out sensitisation campaigns in schools and youth groups such as the Chongololo and Chipembele clubs (wildlife and conservation-oriented clubs). For this, HHiSS had developed brochures (funded by Save the Snakes in the USA) and posters specifically for children and youths.
